Big 12 teams support Texas' Jones as he battles leukemia

D1 Men's Basketball: Texas outlasts TCU to in double-overtime thriller

On January 10, the University of Texas basketball team sophomore Andrew Jones had been diagnosed with leukemia and had begun treatment. 

In the days since the announcement, the Big 12 community has rallied around Jones and the Longhorns to show their support.

It began the night of Jan. 10, when Texas pulled out a dramatic 99-98 OT win at home over a ranked TCU squad. The Longhorns held Jones’s jersey up before the game in an awesome show of solidarity.

At Texas’s next game three days later, vs. Oklahoma State, the Cowboys  to honor Jones:

On Jan. 17, Texas Tech did the same thing, donning Jones’s No. 1:

On Jan. 20, West Virginia expressed a conference-wide solidarity for Jones with “Big 12 Strong” t-shirts:

The Longhorns have also added a patch to their jerseys, which they'll wear for the rest of the season:
